Larks’ Tongues in Aspic Part IV pulls up the guitars from the multi tracks as it’s major focus and is part of the forthcoming box Heaven & Earth while the first disc is rounded out by the radio edit from the Heroes ep. The Errors is another demo recording made by Jakko Jakszyk, Tony Levin & Gavin Harrison shortly before it premiered last year. Neurotica is from the forthcoming Live in Mexico release. It’s been released on The VROOOM Sessions and Maximum VROOOM. and Funky Jam was recorded at Applewood Studios in Woodstock, NY during the VROOOM ep sessions. Red is from the Live in Vienna release while Discipline is a Jakko Jakszyk/Gavin Harrison demo recorded before the band revived it last year. Larks Tongues in Aspic Part I was recorded NovemMuseumsquartier, Vienna, Austria while Doctor Diamond is from JRichard’s Club, Atlanta, GA. Formentera Lady is on the expanded version of Earthbound and is from MaRiverside Theatre in Milwaukee, WI. Cirkus is from JMoore Theatre in Seattle, WA from the friends and family show that started the 2017 tour. Groon (Take 6) was recorded during the sessions for In the Wake of Poseidon and is on the Sailor’s Tales box set dvd/bluray. We then get the version of The Court of the Crimson King from the Radical Action to Unleash the Hold of Monkey Mind dvd/bluray. The first disc opens with another variation on the Wind edit followed by an instrumental edit of a section from The Court of the Crimson King both of which were recorded during sessions for the first album in July 1969 at Wessex Sound Studios in London. As with the previous Elements sets, this is made up of stuff from the box sets, downloads, 40th Anniversary Editions and a few things that are once again, exclusive to this set. Would we still get an Elements tour box like we had going back to 2014? Thankfully, the powers that be let us know that there would be another Elements tour box. When the band announced this year’s tour last year, I was a little worried at first because the tour was the first one since 2014 not to be called Elements but rather Uncertain Times.
